Sharon CrionSharon Crino
Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of the Monterey Bay Area Chapter, Sharon Crino directs the strategic plan for the chapter and leads a professional and volunteer staff of 300 plus individuals with offices located in Carmel, Hollister and Salinas serving the communities within Monterey and San Benito Counties.

She began her tenure with the American Red Cross in 2008 as CEO of the former Carmel Area Chapter and in 2009 was instrumental in merging the Carmel and Monterey-San Benito Counties Chapter to form the Monterey Bay Area Chapter.

Prior to joining the Red Cross she held a number of senior management positions with Eastman Kodak Company, serving as Corporate Vice President and General Manager for the Company’s Health Imaging Division for Europe, Pacific, Middle East, Asia, and Russia. She was responsible for the $1B profit and loss (P&L) business in over 100 countries. She has extensive international P&L management, leadership and change management skills. Ms. Crino has resided in Germany, London, England and Geneva, Switzerland. During her tenure in Europe she was a member of the senior leadership team within Health Imaging, a member of the European leadership team, the diversity council, and was the Health Imaging liaison to the European Union.

 
Tim DuncanTim Duncan
Director of Operations

Tim Duncan is the Director of Operations for the Monterey Bay Area Chapter, having previously served as Interim CEO of the former Monterey-San Benito Counties Chapter. In this role he manages the finance, human resources, logistics, and volunteer support for the chapter. He also functions as the Salinas Service Center Manager, providing day to day management of the Salinas office.

Tim began his career with the Red Cross in California serving as Executive Director for the Merced/Mariposa Counties Chapter and then as CEO of the Sonoma County Chapter in Santa Rosa, a position he held for 10 years. Concurrently he served for six years on the California State ARC Service Council and for four years was the chair of the Financial Development Committee. In 2004 he then joined the National Red Cross regional office in Sacramento as Director of Development and Chapter Solutions Officer providing capacity building and support to 43 chapters in California, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands.

Prior to joining the American Red Cross Tim served as the Executive Director of the Miami City Ballet, the Cincinnati/New Orleans City Ballet, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet (Seattle) and as General Manager of the San Francisco Ballet.

 
Brielle BumbaBrielle Bumba
Health and Safety Coordinator

Brielle Bumba is the Health and Safety Coordinator for the American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter and is based out of the Salinas office. She serves as an instructor for the Health and Safety Department on courses in CPR, First Aid, Babysitter Training, Pet First Aid, and Wilderness First Aid. Her responsibilities also include managing the Chapter’s instructors for CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety. Prior to her current role, she was a lifeguard and a Water Safety instructor. A native of Monterey County, she first became involved with the Red Cross as a child completing the Learn to Swim and Babysitter courses and donating blood.

Brielle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Texas State University. An active member of her community she has held leadership positions on the boards of the Steinbeck Toastmasters Club, the City of Salinas Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, the League of Women Voters of the Salinas Valley, and is an Alumni of Leadership Salinas Valley.

 
Phyllis ClevelandPhyllis Cleveland
Administrative Assistant

Phyllis Cleveland is the Administrative Assistant to the CEO of the Monterey Bay Area Chapter of the Red Cross and is based out of the Carmel office. Her responsibilities include providing the administrative services for the Carmel office, the Board of the Directors, and the CEO. A retired Boeing 747 international airline pilot and a former FAA Aviation Safety Inspector she has spent over 41 years in the aviation industry providing her expertise in accident and incident investigation, safety analysis, procedural development, and communications for both major airlines and general aviation. She has held the position of Chief Pilot, Flight and Ground instructor, college advanced Aeronautics instructor, Air Taxi pilot, corporate pilot, and deputy sheriff.

Active in community service both locally and internationally, she is a member of two nonprofit boards and of the Carmel Valley Rotary Club.

 
Shelley Gesicki
Marketing and Media Relations

Shelley Gesicki is the Marketing and Media Relations Manager for the Monterey Bay Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and manages the marketing and public relations efforts for the organization. She is based out of the Carmel office and divides her time between the Salinas and Hollister offices.

Shelley most recently was an Account Executive at Armanasco Public Relations, Inc. (APR) managing accounts in a variety of industries including education, hospitality and healthcare. Prior to joining APR she was the Marketing Manager for the Commute Alternatives/Rideshare program for AMBAG where she developed and executed public awareness campaigns and outreach programs targeting residents of Monterey County. She began her career with Brooks/Cole Publishing, an international college textbook publisher, most recently serving as an Assistant Editor.   Active in her community, she has volunteered her time on projects such as Monterey County’s Bike Week, and the Boys and Girls Club Comics for Kids Night. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Salinas Valley and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Los Angeles.

 
Amy Jimenez
Health and Safety Services Manager

Amy Jimenez is the Health and Safety Services Manager for the American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter. She is based out of the Carmel office and divides her time between the Salinas and Hollister offices. Her responsibilities include the planning, marketing and delivery of CPR and First Aid training and the sales of mission-related products throughout Monterey and San Benito Counties. She manages the Education and Training Coordinators, Health and Safety Instructors and oversees the training of approximately 9,000 students annually.

Amy joined the Red Cross with over seven years of program development and sales management experience gained through working in both the private and public healthcare sectors. Active in her community she belongs to the Association of Junior League. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Corporate Communication and Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.

 
Lynda Maguet
Emergency Services Manager

Lynda Maguet is the Emergency Services Manager for the American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter and is based out of the Salinas office. Her responsibilities include Preparedness, Response and Planning for Disasters in Monterey County. Lynda provides disaster training, supervision and education for volunteers, the community and provides 24-hour support and services to the local community when a disaster strikes. She travels to large disaster operations around the United States offering her expertise and training and has met with the Red Cross affiliates in Turkey, Greece, China, Scotland and England to share her experience and knowledge.

She began her tenure with the Red Cross in 1997 as a volunteer in disaster services and has served as the Assistant Director of Disaster Services for the Monterey County Chapter and the Emergency Services Director for the Monterey-San Benito Counties Chapter. Lynda has lived in Monterey County for over 33 years and is an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a former Girls Scout and Brownie Leader, and supports many community fundraising events in the county.

 
Olga SalgadoOlga Salgado
Office Administrator

Olga Salgado is the Office Administrator of the Salinas Service Center for the Monterey Bay Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. As the office administrator Olga’s responsibilities include all aspects of office functions and support for the departments.

 Olga joined the Red Cross team during Hurricane Katrina as a Disaster Services volunteer and has been on assignment in San Diego and Soledad working in shelters during fire season.   A native of the Salinas Valley, she attended Hartnell Junior College and the University of Oregon in Eugene. Active in her community, she and her husband have worked as home group leaders and on various missionary teams through their membership in Celebration Church Salinas.

 
Daniella Zapata
Public Support Coordinator

Daniella first joined the Red Cross as a volunteer during Hurricane Katrina/Rita as a facilities supervisor in the Material Services Support Group. She has served as the Director of Health and Safety and as Interim CEO for the former Carmel Area Chapter.

Prior to joining the Red Cross she served as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and Pohang Pier, South Korea. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sullivan University in Lexington, Kentucky.

 Daniella Zapata is the Public Support Coordinator for the Monterey Bay Area Chapter based out of the Carmel office and divides her time between the Salinas and Hollister offices. She is responsible for assisting in fund development, event management and supervising office functions in the Hollister Service Center.
